9 Oct 2008 SAC Music organized a concert titled "Trikaal Live in Concert" at the Nepal Academy Hall at Kamaladi on 4th october. The two-hour-long musical evening saw the popular Nepali fusion band Trikaal perform many of their new compositions and featured guest artistes Bijaya Vaidya, Rajendra Karna, Guru Dev Kamat and Amul Karki Dhali.The concert's chief guest was French Ambassador Gilles Henry Garault.

9 Oct 2008 The third music video from singer Sunil Singh Thakuri's debut album “Crazy Hat” was launched on Oct. 2 at North Palace, Thamel. The semi-pop song “Mutuma Timi Lai” was shot entirely around the glossy greenery of Godavari and was directed by Thakuri himself.Sunil Singh Thakuri's previous singles “Bhuli Bhuli “ and “Bacha Todeu” were received well by listeners and audiences, and the first one even got him the “Best New Artiste of the Year” nomination at the 10th Annual Image Awards.

9 Oct 2008 Popular Singer Ram Krishna Dhakal officially launched his 10th album "Mero Saathi"' on 18th September.The Album was released by his own two-years old daughter Rani. Rani sang the National Anthem of Nepal and also one of her father's song on that program.The video "Haasi deu ya" from the same album was also premiered at the programme which was directed by Asif Shah.This album contains eight songs and is officially marketed and distributed by Music Nepal.

18 Aug 2008 "The AXE" band is going to perform live concert in Melbourne and Sidney. The programme "Nepal Festival 2008" is organised by the joint venture of NRN Australia and Embassy of Nepal. This is the 2nd time to have this festival in Sydney and 1st time in Melbourne. And this is an open and free programme. Beside live concert, There will be also a number of stalls for food and nepalese products. So basically the main aim of this festival is to promote our Nepalese culture in this multicultural country.

9 Aug 2008 Classical instrumental ensemble Sur Sudha recently completed their Europe tour.The group performed in countries like Germany, France, Holland, England and Luxembourg which took place during June and July.The group also performed with local artistes in Paris while in London they performed with Joshua Field."Resam firiri" is undoubtedly the most popular song and they got a lot of requests from the audience for that song.The group is going on another tour to Japan and Korea in September this year.

5 Aug 2008 Talented singer Lochan Rijal is all set to launch his third album entitled 'Maanish' under the label of Music Nepal.The album consists of 8 songs.He is scheduled to go to the US for his Ph.D in Music after releasing this album in september.He is currently working as a Principal at Nepal Music Centre.

5 Aug 2008 Singer Rashik Aryal has recently come out with his second musical album titled "Rashik".The new album has altogether nine songs with most of the songs are soft rock variety. It starts with a slow, soft rock number called "Timi Suna" that also incorporates tabala along with guitar and drums in its music. Its music video is also ready.Besides lending his voice, Rashik has also written and composed all the songs in his album. Timi Suna, Dina Nasakne, Laamo Chha Baato, Paagalpan and Lakshya have music arrangements by Gopal Rasaili. Likewise, Prashna and Biswas have been arranged by Bishal Gurung, while Kina Kina and Yo Maya have music arrangements by Janak Sunuwar and Shiva Mukhiya respectively.Rashik is released under the label of Samjhana Audio & Video (SAV).

3 Jul 2008 Famous music composer and arranger Rahul Pradhan has formed a band Rahul & The Rhythm (A Blend Of Culture) with three female singer from different country. Its a mix of Rahul's rhythm with a blend of culture with Nimu from Nepal, Salomy frm India and ILze from Europe. Rahul & The Rhythm has just released thier album "Attention" from "United Music Company". For the album lyrics has been written by Basu Dhakal, Anup Shriwastav. They have featured 9double7 and son of Rahul Pradhan master Aman Pradhan.This album contains experimental songs about Life, Country, Love & Trust. All songs are recorded and mixed at "Orange studio" by Rahul Pradhan and music composed and arranged by himself . The cover for this album is designed by Surose Bard.

29 Jun 2008 The Sprite Band Challenge hosted its top 6 round at the Russian Culture Center, Kamalpokhari this Saturday afternoon. From 40 selected bands, only 6 were chosen for this round. The top 6 rock bands are Alt F4, Anuprastha, Bequeath, and Shatkond from the capital, Quaver from Jhapa and The Smriti from Birtanagar.The bands were adjudged according to their performances in cover songs and originals. Manoj KC, Robin Tamang and Dev Rana were the judges for the band challenge.The Sprite Band Challenge is live telecasted on Kantipur Television every Sunday at 9 pm.

29 Jun 2008 The June edition of Paleti was Meera Thapa's first ever solo performance as well as very much a tribute to Hari Bhakta Katuwal.On 27th june,the singer from Digboi of Assam enthralled the audience at nepa~laya's 'r' sala with several songs, most of which were unheard gems penned by the veteran lyricist during his time in Assam.The musical series has been taking place on the last Friday of every Gregorian month since 2005. The July edition will reportedly feature singer siblings Badri-Durga Kharel of Bolaaun bhane timilai baat laagne dara fame from Darjeeling.

15 Jun 2008 The metal band, Coufan has won the title of Best Battle Band at the music competition dubbed "Inter-College Battle of the Bands".Idiosyncrasy and Bonfire bands clinched the titles of first and second runners-up respectively.Along with the winning trophy, Coufan walked away with a three-year musical contract in which they will get to cut an album plus a music video. Similarly, Idiosyncrasy got a one-year music contract and Bonfire was awarded a six-month music contract with Odyssey Zorastrism.

10 Jun 2008 The event management group, Riff Event organized a music workshop dubbed "Guitar Workshop" at the Nepal Academy Hall in Kathmandu on 7th June .There were seven well-known guitarists of Nepal who were featured in this half-day program. They were slide (Hawaiian) guitar player Roshan Sharma, Iman Bikram Shah of Raktika, Manoj KC of 1974 AD, Hari Maharjan of Nepathya, rock guitarist Gopal Rasaili, fusion guitarist Anil Shah, and rock guitarist Sunil Bardewa.The program was supported by Planet Musical Academy, Rock Fever Magazine, rockreview.com and Riff Records.

2 Jun 2008 Veteran singer of Nepali modern songs Kumar Subba made the Paleti concert memorable at nepa~laya's 'r' sala on on 30th May.He captivated the audience from the very first song "Tara Haru Jhilmil Gardai" followed by Ishwor Balav's "Pahad Ajhai Sukeko Chhaina", Gopal Yonjan's "Tara Jadeko Aakash", "Birsiera Gae Pani", "Tero Maya Ke Lagchha", "Meri Rani" and his other songs.Kumar Subba added colour to the enchanting evening with other compositions by himself, Shanti Thatal, Dibya Khaling and Durga Kharel.
